Do you wish to organise a group outing? Nothing is easier than with Cinema Aylmer! Make your reservation in 2 easy steps:

  1. Send an email to info@CinemaAylmer.com stating the name of your school, the name of the person in charge, the estimated amount of participants as well as their average age and, of course, the date and time.
  2. Choose the desired film or theatrical play amongst our choices. We will confirm these choices with you via email.

Do you wish to offer gift certificates to your deserving students? Present yourself with an order form during our open hours and we will give you the requested amount of certificates. The receipt will be sent directly to the accounting by us.

The Cinema Aylmer is a local business (or company) that answers to the local purchase support directive of the Ministry of Education.

Q: What are the conditions to apply for the group rate?

To be eligible for the group rate, your group has to be comprised of at least 20 people. You must have reserved at least 2 days in advance for a regular session or 5 days in advance for a private session. The group rate never applies on Fridays after 5h, as well as for Saturdays, Sundays and on holidays. This restriction can also be applied on certain movies during the two first weeks of its initial presentation.

Q: Is it possible to book a private session?

It is always possible to book a private session. You can choose among our currently featuring titles or select an older title. The private sessions can’t be during our open hours. For a private session, a minimum rate is applied (see the question ‘’what are the rates? ’’)

Q: How are payments done?

The Cinema Aylmer is a recognized supplier of the three school boards of the region (CSPO, CSD and WQSB). We will provide you a receipt based on the exact number of people that were present. The person in charge is responsible of giving that receipt to their accounting department. For schools of the other school boards or from Ottawa, we will ask an order form from your administration.

Q: What are my movie choices?  

You can choose amongst our currently featuring titles or even among our older titles.  We also offer a variety of international films for children. Most of these movies have played at the FIFEM and offer educational tools for the teachers. In any case, we will help you by suggesting choices based on your group’s age range. Our movies are available in French and in English.

Q: What are my choices regarding plays?

We suggest the programming of La Comédie Française and of The Royal Shakespeare Comedy. The plays are always in their original version, French in for La Comédie Française and English for The Royal Shakespeare Comedy. A subtitled version is usually available. The plays are not available all year long. Please refer to the theatre program to know when the plays are available. For The Royal Shakespeare Comedy, only educational tools in English are available.

Q: How can we book for a group?

The reservation for a group must be made via email at info@CinemaAylmer.com . In the email you must state the name of your school, the name of the person in charge, the estimated amount of participants along with their average age and of course the desired date and time. You can also call us during our opening hours, however, the email remains the best way to contact us.

Q: Do you offer accommodations for students with special needs?

In order to answer to the special needs of some students, we can offer a representation of the same movie with adapted conditions (ex: lower volume, ambient lights open) in another room. In the event that many groups would need this service at the same time, representations will start at the same time for everyone, in the same room. In the case of diverging times for the different groups, the movie will start at 9h30.

Q: What are the rates for a group session for a movie?

The price is of 6$ per person. With every 12 tickets bought, one chaperone can go in free of charge. If you choose a movie currently playing at our cinema outside of our open hours the final receipt must come up to at least 250$. For a special order, the final bill must reach up to at least 500$. For a special order for more than one group in the same week (from Friday to Thursday), the final bill has to come up to at least 250$ per group.

We also offer special rates on food and drinks. Our most popular combo (1 small pop-corn with 1 small juice or a bottle of water) costs 4$

The taxes are included in these prices.

Q: What are the rates for a group session for a play?

The price is of 8$ per person. With every 12 tickets bought, one chaperone can go in free of charge. The final bill must reach up to at least 500$.

Q: What are the rates for the gift certificates?

Q: What are the fees when cancelling?

If you cancel 6 working days in advance there will be no fees. If you cancel less than 5 working days in advance, a fixed fee of 250$ will be asked for any special order.

Q: Do you accept small groups composed of people with special needs?

For a group composed of people with special needs, the group rate will be applied event if the group is of less than 20 individuals. However, the minimum fee of 250$ is applied for a private session. To take advantage of the group rate you need to book at least 2 days in advance for our regular sessions.

Q: We have students that have food allergies. What do what do you plan to replace the combo popcorn with?

The popcorn can be eaten by people allergic to peanuts, almonds and eggs.  However, it cannot be eaten by those allergic to dairy products. In such a case, we will replace the popcorn with nachos.

Q: Do you accept last-minute group reservations?

We do accept unexpected group reservations under some conditions. Send a message text at 819-918-8090 stating your needs. (amount of people, time, etc.). If we can receive your group, you will have our answer before 9h30. Warning: This number is exclusively reserved for emergencies. No other requests will be done via this number.
